Safety Notice paraglider Skywalk X-Alps 2013 and Masala 2, all sizes
- Details
The company Skywalk informs: A pilot reported that the attachment seam on a C-riser tore during launch preparations. Investigations conducted by Skywalk and DHV as a result of this notice produced the following results. If the C-riser is loaded in the normal direction (direction of flight), the strength of the seam is sufficient. If the direction of the load is turned 180°, then the strength of the seam is too weak due to chaffing. Loading the riser in this direction can occur during ground handling in a strong wind or if the C-lines get caught on an object during launch. Although this incident appears to be an isolated case, effective immediately, paragliders of the type MASALA2 may not be flown anymore. The owners are requested to connect skywalk. The company will inspect and repair the risers at no charge.
